'Daughters of Winter' embarks on S Africa journey

Iranian feature 'Daughters of Winter' is to go on screen at the 40th Durban Int’l Film Festival in South Africa.

Iranian feature 'Daughters of Winter' has been set to go on screen at the 40th Durban International Film Festival (DIFF) in South Africa.

Produced and directed by Iranian actor-turned-director Behzad Khodaveisi, the feature will have its international premiere in the DIFF.

'Daughters of Winter’ narrates the story of some people in a house. Every one of them is bothered somehow, but they try to change their lives.

Among the cast are Hamoun Seyyedi, Mahtab Servati, Niloufar Koukhani, Amir-Hossein Hemmati, Aqil Bahrami, Nasim Afsharpour, Ladan Nazi, Behnam Qorbani, Sara Abedi, and the director Khodaveisi.

Launched in 1979, the DIFF is an annual film festival that takes place in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal province, South Africa. It is one of the oldest and largest film festivals in Southern Africa which presents more than 200 screenings celebrating the best in South African, African and international cinema.

The festival also offers filmmaker workshops, industry seminars, discussion forums, and outreach activities that include screenings in township areas where cinemas are non-existent.

The 40th edition of the DIFF is slated for July 18-28 in the coastal city of Durban in South Africa.
